We are Conservation Architects who make historic buildings more themselves, through sensitive repairs, alterations, and extensions.

REPAIRS

Our approach to repairing historic buildings is grounded in the principles of the SPAB (the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings). We are well versed in good practice techniques for remediations to built fabric, as well as constantly striving to remain up to date on the latest advances and new techniques in the field of building repair.

ALTERATIONS

We have a wide range of experience in carrying out internal and external alterations to historic buildings, particularly to churches and houses. We have successfully gained permission for alterations to buildings of all listing levels, by carefully understanding the history of the building, looking for opportunities for change based on this understanding, and ensuring that the resulting heritage asset is the ‘best version of itself’.

EXTENSIONS

We believe that building conservation involves the careful management of change, rather than holding a building in aspic. If extending a building is the most appropriate option to allow it to continue in its current use, we look for opportunities to extend the building without taking away from or diluting the significance of the original building.
